Winter Wonderland Basket HELP!

a1400by1050The holidays are fast approaching! PTA is set the return of Winter Wonderland on Friday, Dec. 2nd. Each class has been asked to prepare a silent auction themed basket for the night. Mrs. Hughes ‘class will be having a “Science Experiments” basket. I DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP! We ONLY have THREE ITEMS (thank you so far to Gabe, Viviana, & Alyson). Home Stretch!

Dear Room 414 Families:

I hope this finds you well, and that your family had a nice break during these last two weeks. We are on the “home stretch” now of Camarena Elementary’s first year! Only 10 more weeks to go. This is a quick update to get you through the month of April.

Monday April 7th > Minimum Day. School will dismiss at 1:15pm.

Friday April 11th > PTA Movie Night. PTA is raising money towards the 6th Grade Promotion. They need DONATIONS!! If you can, please sign up at the SignUp Genius link .

Thursday April 17th > Rubio’s Fundraiser for 6th Grade Promotion

April 14-18 > “Smarter Balanced” & ELA Performance Testing begins. Please have your child in attendance this week and prepared to do his/her best!

Saturday April 19th > Camarena Color Splash Fun Run will start at 8am. See the school website for more details and to register.graduation-cap-and-diploma

Wednesday April 23th > 6th Grade Promotion Pictures – Dress nice!

**PROMOTION UPDATE** The official date has been set for Friday, June 6th from 2:00-3:30 at Eastlake Community Church. Thursday, June 5th at 1:00 will be a tentative rehearsal at the venue, and we may need to request parent drivers. Please keep that Thursday free, if you choose to volunteer.

An EOY field trip has been scheduled for Skyzone in May. An all-exclusive $35 will be due by May 2nd for admission to Skyzone, a commemorative t-shirt with student names printed, and EOY picnic. More details and permission slips will be sent in the coming weeks. However, I wanted to give advance notice to plan accordingly.

Thanks to all the families who attended, and the STUDENTS who presented their Student-Led Conferences in March. Your children did a wonderful job, and I was happy to have such great conversations about where they are going in their learning. Your feedback was very, very helpful!

Looking forward to ending the year with a cheer!

A while back, I posted on our class blog about my signing up for DonorsChoose.org. This is a  non-profit organization which permits teachers to set up projects hoping to get donations in  support. I finally have our first project approved: BOOKS!  If you click here, it will take you to my page on DonorChoose.org. If you click  through the page, there are specific details of which books I am ordering, and you can also see our supporters. If you are inclined,  you may make a donation.

Halfway there in just two days!!

In turn, once the project receives all the funds, they will send me  the exact order of books on the list.

The project was just posted this weekend, and already our goal is halfway met!!!
